Counselling and Psychotherapy

A calm, steady space to be heard and find your way forward.

Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone.

Do you sometimes feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed? Like people don’t really understand what you’re going through? Are past events holding you back from moving forward or being where you want to be?

You’re not alone. Taking that first step towards support can feel daunting, but having someone alongside you can make things a little easier.

Counselling with me offers a steady, understanding relationship where you can bring your thoughts, feelings, and questions without pressure, judgement, or the need to have everything figured out. Together, we can work towards finding clarity and understanding in your experiences.

Life brings many challenges, from anxiety and low mood to the demands of work, parenting, and changing relationships. I support adults who are navigating these transitions or searching for a deeper sense of meaning and identity.

In person and online counselling

Work with me in person in Worthing or Littlehampton, West Sussex. Or work with me online via secure video link if that’s more convenient for you, or if travel is an obstacle.

Fully qualified and insured

I’m a fully qualified and insured Integrative Counsellor, and an Accredited Registrant Member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

Space for you

Time set aside just for you. A chance to pause, reflect, and bring whatever feels important. A place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to make sense of the challenges you may be facing.

Warm and empathic

I believe counselling should be as individual as you are. With warmth and understanding, I’ll adapt to your needs, and we’ll work together at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.

Questions about counselling with me

You can contact me about working with me by phone/text/WhatsApp on 07368 831 217, by emailing me at enquiries@nicolalloydcounselling.co.uk, or through the contact page.

We can arrange a convenient time to talk for around 15 minutes on the phone to give us both a chance to see if we feel happy to work together.

If you decide you’d like to go ahead and work with me, we’d then talk about a regular day and time to meet, either in-person or online and can schedule a first session.

Everyone is different and so this varies from person to person.

I work with people weekly on a fixed or open-ended basis and this is something we’d discuss during our initial phone call, and through regular reviews.

At the moment I only work with people over 18 years old.

My fees for each session are £50.00 and this is payable in advance by bank transfer or card.

I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If a session is cancelled without that notice or you do not attend a session, the full session fee will be payable.

My core training is in Person-Centred Counselling, a compassionate and non-judgemental approach that values your unique experience and supports you in finding answers. This means I offer a warm, welcoming and supportive space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace. I also work integratively, which means I can draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and ideas to tailor our work together in a way that best meets your individual needs. I don’t set homework between sessions and I do not offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

For face to face/in person counselling, I currently see clients in Worthing and Littlehampton.

In Worthing I work from a peaceful wooden cabin at the end of a private garden with its own private side entrance. I also work from rooms at Dove Love, Littlehampton.

Online counselling is via Zoom and available to clients anywhere in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man..

Yes. However, there are some exceptions to this. If I believe you or another person to be at risk of serious harm then I may need to break confidentiality. This is something that, if I’m concerned about, I will always endeavour to discuss with you first.

Not at all. Sometimes you may have something you particularly want to focus on during a session, or even several sessions and this is something we can talk about and explore what you’d like to achieve from that.

However, there are so many areas of life that overlap, intersect, and impact each other that it isn’t unusual for different things to come up in sessions and this is all helpful in our work together, and an important part of understanding you.
